                        2) Australia

                        3) India

                        4) Japan

Headquarters -- Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India. (proposed)

The Quad was formed over the growing influence of China in the Indian Ocean and the South China Sea. China has been practicing its Expansionist  policies over Taiwan and India.

Chinese soldiers had clashes with their Indian counterparts in Ladakh. US taking advantage of this lent out a hand to India to help it in case of a war and formed the Quad group with them along with Japan, who was also having issues with the Chinese. China claimed 2 Islands of Japan as its own.

Australia  joined the alliance after the Chinese put restrictions on Australian cargo. Australia signed a pact with India on sharing each others military bases. The pact also Boosted trade between the two countries. It also mentions that the 2 countries will provide logistic support to each other.

The four countries have warned China about its policy of expansionism in the South China Sea and not letting Vietnamese fishing vessels fish with ease. Chinese patrol vessels fend off all fishing vessels in the South China Sea. The US warships have often witnessed the Chinese vessels doing so.

Over the growing concerns of a Chinese invasion over Taiwan, the US has kept Three of its aircraft carriers with full fleet posted in the Indian Ocean and South China Sea.

The USS Nimitz is in the Indian Ocean and is participating in a naval exercise with Indian warships near the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
