  Indian Presence in South China Sea India has deployed Frontline warships to south china sea in reaction to recent clashed in Galwan- Report The Indian Navy has deployed its frontline, ready for battle vessels in the much contested region of the South China Sea, much to the displeasure of China. HOWEVER, the government has not confirmed the names of the vessels or the types of the vessels which are currently sailing in the South China Sea. The United States of America has already deployed its vessels in the region. Chabahar Port

Chabahar Port  In 2016 India signed a deal with Iran which mentioned that India would pump-in $8 billion for the development of Chabahar port. It has got 10 berths and can handle about 8 lakh tonnes of cargo.          Why is this Port important for India? 1) India uses the port to reach the Afghan markets. Afghanistan was dependent on Pakistan for essential supplies but now Indian products can easily reach Afghanistan through Iran. India has also laid down rail tracks and made an important highway connecting all important Afghan cities. European counties can also be reached through roadways which would be quicker. 2) The deal also gave India the permission to keep its naval fleet posted in Chabahar. As the post is just  80 km away from Pakistan's Karachi port, India can easily keep a watch on the Pakistani and Chinese vessels posted there and can easily destroy them or threaten then if needed. Ladakh Air Support

 Why Navy jets in Ladakh? Indian Air Force(IAF) has posted Navy Mig-29s in Ladakh for air support. Mig-29 is among the most important jets in the IAF. A naval variant of this fighter, Mig-29K, is used in the Indian Navy. Recently these naval aircrafts have been moved to Ladakh due to the clashes with the Chinese.  Along with the Su-30MKI and Apache attack helis, the Mig-29k would let the Chinese bite the dust. But why Navy jets?  We have the answer. 1)It will make the Navy pilots more experienced in combat operations. 2)The Navy jets are designed in a way that they can take off from short runways provided by the Aircraft carriers, hence, they can easily take off from the short mountainous runways in Ladakh. 3)It will increase the coordination between all three sections of the Indian Armed Forces which will be necessary in case of an all out war.
